TRE THOMAS: YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW HIS NAME, BUT YOU’VE DEFINITELY HEARD HIS VOICE
You’ve probably heard Tre Thomas before and didn’t even know it. His Godfather just happens to be one of the biggest names in Gospel music, Richard Smallwood! Deal with that! (LOL) Tre was featured on Smallwood’s ’07 project “Journey Live in New York” on the song “Come Together.” I’d say that’s a nice way of being introduced to the world! Tre has now stepped into the spotlight on his debut independent project “Natural Contrast,” which was released in ’08. During my first two listens I can’t say this was my favorite CD, but the more I played it, the more I started to get into the CD. Tre has a rich, crystal clear, tenor voice that I believe, with the perfectly crafted song, could send you straight into a worship experience. I started to recognize the real beauty in his voice on the lush ballad “My First Love.” I would like to hear more of that style from him in the future. It’s very apparent that Tre is a talented upcoming singer/songwriter/producer and I’m interested to see his growth on the new material he’s working on. I’m encouraging all of you to support his ministry because he’s a down to earth guy who is not afraid to hear the truth and grow from it. Be on the lookout for my interview with Tre coming soon!
