DA GOSPEL TRUTH GETS AN INSIDE LOOK INTO NEW ARTIST CLAUDE DEUCE

  • News
  • November 12th

When I got a hold of this newcomer’s debut CD “Young Elder,” I gave it a glowing review and it was much deserved. If you still aren’t familiar with the name Claude Deuce, stop what you’re doing and give him a listen! Since he’s relatively new to the scene, I thought I would find out a little more about the man whose been silently in the background as a sought after Gospel producer, but is now garnering the same recognition as a talented solo artist.

  1. What’s the hardest part about being a brand new artist? Well, one thing is not having a large budget to get some of my favorite writers or producers involved in my project. Also not having 4 or 5 music videos per album or having my album promoted/marketed on a grand scale.  Then there’s the whole proving yourself process and paying dues.
  2. If you had the opportunity to go on one of these reality shows, which one would you choose and why? “Survivor,” “Making the Band” or the “Biggest Loser? “Survivor!!” People wouldn’t expect me on there and I’d love to show the world what I got.  I’m a “MacGyver” guy at heart!!
  3. Name one Gospel artist you would love to work with and tell why? And how would you give them a different sound? I’d love to work with Rance Allen.  He’s a legend and a huge inspiration to me.  I’d love to hear Rance on top of the most R&B sounding track with like crazy background vocal harmonies.  Oh yes!!
  4. Tell me something God is working with you to overcome? Letting go of grudges I’ve held against people in my life…just letting go of the past in general. You can’t change the past, but you can grow from it.  I’m a divorcee and for years the scars messed up relationships that I was in.
  5. How would you describe your style as a Producer? How would you describe your sound as an artist? My style as a producer is multi-faceted.  I play several instruments and I’m also a great programmer.  I learn fast and I stay relevant.  My sound as an artist is soulful and heartfelt.  I’m sincere in what I sing about.  My next album is going to show how different I can be.
  6. Since the release of your album, what’s been the most rewarding part? The many tweets I get on Twitter and also the FB messages I get about how the album is blessing folks!  Also gaining the respect of my peers is an honor. The fact that YOU (Da Gospel Truth) reached out to me is a great feeling!
